COFEE TABLE STUNTIN' // COOLER THAN THE AVERAGE MAGAZINE

Good reads? Yes. Beautiful images? Yes. Looks cool while sitting on your coffee table? Bonus! Here's a collection of magazines that tick off all the boxes of being cooler than the average bear.

FOR THE FOODIE/LIFESTYLER

Some of you already know about Kinfolk, the entire magazine is about what they like to call "slow living" Just think of it as a magazine dedicated to the idea of gathering with friends, enjoying a few drinks and sharing good food. The photography is beautiful and yes, inspiring!

FOR THE GREEN THUMB

This quarterly magazine is about anything that grows. Are you into growing a rooftop garden, a live wall, grow some food, want to dabble in hydroponics... ALRIGHT THEN! They also have a monthly digital download version if you're interested. Check it

FOR THE ROCK N ROLLER

Launched by artist/musician power couple Ali Beletic and Seth Olinsky, Lightning magazine is an American counterculture mag. The articles are written by artists, dirt bikers, composers, gallerists, surfers, architects, poets and explore many sub-cultures, non of which I am a part of, but have been genuinely moved by!

FOR THE MODERN WOMAN

When you take a look at their mission statement it's clear: Darling is the art of being a woman. For their full definition take a look here.

FOR THE GENERALIST

Apology is brought to you by one of the founding members of Vice magazine. This one is hard to pin down because it covers any and everything and that's no joke! Literature, interviews, essays, humor, art, reportage... it's all there.

FOR THE GENT & LADY-GENT

If I have the story straight, Uncrate is a popular blog featuring bad-ass lifestyle products you can shop on their site. They thought, why not make it a magazine? And then they did it. Only two editions in. Get on before there's a bandwagon!

FOR THE FASHION CONSCIOUS

NOT your average fashion magazine, this biannual slow-fashion mag was launched by Jamie Ortega (fashion stylist) From Sumzine: Fast fashion's high costs are incredible: whether it's the three billion tons of soot released into the air or the 1,129 lives lost at the Rana Plaza garment factory collapse, the casualties of the fashion industry are clear. Their goal is to change the fashion industry for the better. Check it.
