OUTFIT// POTATO SACK CHIC

What are you gonna' do - sometimes the potato sack dress is the one you want to wear, no? Just me? Anyhow.

What you're looking at is an Acne Studios dress. Yes, it's chambray and insanely comfortable.

IF you're under 5'7 and picking a dress with this shape - keep in mind, you have to go with something with great design elements, so it doesn't look like a mumu. Check out the details on the back and sides.

Gave it some "shape" by hiking it up a bit and let the extra fabric fall over.

Frayed hem = interesting.

Over it, a shrunken denim jacket - in the same color way.

You know we love a good monochrome moment.

Simple blue bangle to up the blue-ness. That is a technical term of course.

CAMOUFLAGE MY FACE

Travel on top of travel means jet lag and a tiiiiiiiirrrrreeeed looking face. But alas, there's an app for that. Sike, there's an outfit for that!

Seriously, when feeling lack-luster, I dial up the fashions to "camouflage" my face. In this case, with actual camo print.

What you see here, is an APC camo print shirt and an architectural vest. The hope is that people will be delighted AND distracted. Now you see me... now you don't!

The difficulty with this particular vest is that it could "wear you" because of it's exaggerated proportions.

But I'm wearing it with a bold shirt to let the world know, I ain't afraid!

Balancing act: black jeans and the go-to travel boots.

What do you do to "camo" your face? Leave a comment why dontcha'!

THE CASE FOR MIXING SCARY PRINTS WITH EVEN SCARIER PRINTS

Exhibit A: here is a two piece printed silk "suit". Conventional styling advice would tell me to break up the prints with a basic, black or white top...

But where's the fun in that?

Exhibit B: breaking up one print with another print in the same color family. Picked a shirt with opposite visual dimensions... aka the larger, more graphic camo shirt breaks up the finer print of the suit. Balance baby.

Conventional styling advice would also have me pair this outfit with a nice, black coat.

Sure, why not? Chic enough.

But saaaaaafeeeeee. Now I ask, where's the risk in that?

BOOM!

Exhibit C: added ANOTHER print, same color family and picking up on the camo theme of the shirt. Little pop of blue, never hurt nobody.

See what's happening here? Anyone? Anyone? There's a relationship here, that I want to be involved in.

I wanna' marry this! The case has been made. But what do you think?
