OUTFIT// WEIRD COMBOS FOR THE WIN

Sometimes it's the weird combinations that make an outfit work. As long as I'm following some basic logic and good taste fundamentals.

Full look:

What you're looking at is an Iro top with cut-outs over a white tank top, paired with 7 For All Mankind blue jeans, white Alexander Wang pony hair mules and an oversized Yankees bomber.

First the top - beautiful Iro cut-out blouse. It's actually dressy and absolutely lovely with trousers or silk shorts. Check out the deets!

SHOP CUT OUT TOPS

It most certainly looks gorgeous dressed up - but you know me! Jeans it is... the most "casual, torn up, common, everyday" jeans, it is!

SHOP DISTRESSED JEANS

The top actually has a very "bell" like shape to it. I had to hide this by doing a sloppy tuck and rolling up the sleeves.

Accessories: this is weird. When do I wear chunky rings? And why does this outfit call for it? The answer is - I'm going full out weird combos with the hope that overall it will make sense.

The jacket: super oversized sports bomber. Chosen for the colorway and stark departure from the rest of the look. Could have worn a blazer, a jean jacket, you name it and it would have been fine. Less interesting, maybe?

Hello, World!

Taking chances is the only way we'll find out whether things are a hit or a miss! What do you think?

OUTFIT// WEAR SOMETHING THAT SCARES YOU

NEVER, EVER would I wear this outfit. I know I'm wearing it and I know I print mix a lot, but stick with me for a second.

The jeans and t-shirt that make up this outfit are pieces that were given to me by wonderful people who's taste I trust.

I don't subscribe to the "you must wear what you've been gifted" thinking. If I don' like something I find it a happy home. But these two piecesI knew would challenge me and my comfort zone, and YES that is a good thing!

So, when I put this on today I said "LAWD a mercy! I would never wear this. Who am I anyway? Why am I putting these together instead of breaking these up into mostly black outfits like a sane human being, who's intimated by these separates?"

Because it would be BORING! But mostly, because I like to test myself to see if I have the guts to pull things off. Fashion for me, can be a series of personal challenges. I was scared to wear this mostly, BUT the color-palette works and the shapes work beautifully.

The lace pattern isn't me, but what could go wrong really? Toughen up sister.

I recommend with as much consideration for good taste and sensibility for tailoring, to wear something that is outside the norm, to see what you're really made of.

Who are you really?

IF IT AINT BROKE: HOLEY TEE + PRINTED PANT PT 2

It might just last this week, but here's another "holey tee with the printed cropped jean combo".

Today: We're in the red and pink spectrum.

The jean and sneakers have an obvious color story going. They were easy to "match" but with the tee, it was about punching things up.

Do I push my sleeves up, even when they're short sleeves? Strangely, yes.

PERSONAL UNIFORM: HOLEY TEE AND PRINTED PANT

Aaaaawwwweeee  shucks! The personal uniform is back. Not to kill the surprise, but I've ONLY been wearing holey tees and printed pants these days. Behold, exhibit A...

IF for some reason, you've been resisting the holey tee, it might be time to give in and sort out a way to make it chic. It doesn't have to be "rock N roll" if you don't want it to be. IF you've been wearing them- I'm officially considering these a staple, NOT a trend.

Bring the print! These pants are actually jeans... comfort? Yes. Style? Sure.

How easy would it have been to wear a black shoe and be done with this look? The easy road can be so uninspired though, don't you think? Enter pony hair, leopard print espadrilles loafers.

Worn as slides, NAH MEAN?!

There's nothing like a personal uniform to simplify things - really and truly. If you knew you had a simple combo to put together daily and were smart about choosing well-made, outstanding pieces within that plan... DRESSING MADE EASY. What say you? Leave a comment, why dontcha?

CAN A BAD HAIR DAY INSPIRE AN OUTFIT?

Can a bad hair day inspire an outfit --- uhhh, YEAH! Check me out today for example.

Woke up with messy hair that wanted to LIVE in it's uncooperative glory. It wanted to be tied up and frayed, honey. It wanted to have loose pieces dangling every which way... and no bun was gonna' stop it! So why fight it- Let "messy" BE the look.

Threw on some jeans that are as hole-y and piece-y as my hair.  Hole-y and piece-y are technical words, of course.

Knowing my whole look would mostly be slopa-dops - and for visual interest, I put on this colorful and printed midriff top. Maaaayyyybe a little sex appeal will get me through this messy day?

But alas, I don't have the courage to show my belly all day, also - the look wouldn't be complete as is... enter an oversized men's button up to continue embracing the messy vibes.

Yes, this Rag and Bone button up is from the men's department... check out the fresh design deets. A lil' fresh polka, a lil' white sleeve, a rustic button moment!

And then when I get shy,  I'll just button this bad boy up and look casual
